Educational PhilosophyI invite you to share in an environment that will expand your knowledge and skills through interactive activities as well as learn with your peers through collaborative communication. My philosophy of teaching is based upon the guiding principles of constructivism whereby we construct knowledge and meaning through our own experiences. Using the Socratic method, I foster/engage students in inquiry-based learning to promote (students') active learning of the content and develop information-processing and problem-solving skills. My personal goal is that we can all learn from one another while nurturing individual growth within an environment that uses technologies to promote active/problem-based learning, intrinsic motivations, personal control and choice.

I have created the "Welcome To Class" video above as an introductory activity for students to complete when participating in one of my online classes. The video has been developed to align with accessibility and universal design research to ensure access to content and equal learning opportunities of all.
